And it's 615, and you have no intention to buy a car and just still want me to wait on you to sit in and/or drive one. Especially if you straight up CANT buy a car now. Fuck you. I don't get paid by the hour and I have a wife waiting for me at home.

I've always wondered where the origin of the idea that 'closing time' is just the time when new customers are turned away, instead of it being the time that you're not supposed to be there .

Well in a perfect world, everybody would be through F&I and delivered by closing time. However, it never works out that way. It's not so much that that's when new people get turned away, as it is that most people who don't have a deal working leave at that time. I can guarantee you that by the time closing time rolls around, the person you're talking to has been there at least 9 hours, most of the time 12. There's been several times when I've taken customers right at or even after closing time. I've learned that if they're not serious, then they won't have the respect to take your followups and return your kindness in any way.

There are so many shades of inconsiderate asshole that I've experienced since I started at the dealership. I'm honestly starting to lose track.

Eh, I don't really want to be seen wearing a VW T-shirt and be associated with that community of people.

How do you know for sure they aren't buying right now? Just curious.

I'd like to be inside the VAG, and when it's still in my house when I wake up in the morning making me breakfast, I'll be angry.

They ask about Beetles.
I say "oh, are you in the market for a new Beetle?"
They respond "oh, not right now. Maybe next year. I don't have the money."
